“I am Dr. Rosemarie Calma, a former Biology teacher at Yerba Buena High School (YBHS) and currently transferred to Ripon High School. I am proud to endorse Mary Pollett for re-election to the Evergreen School District Board of Trustees. “I’ve known Ms. Mary Pollett for almost 8 years as my principal. Her hard work, kindness to all students and her staff, as a good leader, and dedication makes the entire school a better place . I am proud to endorse Ms Pollett to be reelected.”
Rose Dela Cruz, Teacher, Yerba Buena High School
“I am proud to endorse Mary Pollett for re-election to the Evergreen School Board. I worked with Mary during her years as principal of Yerba Buena High School, and I experienced firsthand her supportive, student-centered leadership.
Mary understood that expanding educational opportunity takes more than words; it takes school leaders willing to invest in educators and give promising programs room to grow. With her support, Yerba Buena's AP Computer Science program doubled in size, adding a second section for the first time, and we launched the school's first dual-enrollment computer science course. These opportunities gave more students, many from backgrounds historically underrepresented in tech, access to rigorous computer science instruction and a chance to earn college credit while still in high school.
Mary trusted the educators around her to bring forward new ideas, while keeping student success at the center of every decision. That same thoughtful, collaborative leadership is exactly what the Evergreen School Board needs, and it's why I'm supporting her re-election.”
Jonathan Trinh, Former AP Computer Science and Mathematics Teacher, Yerba Buena High School
“It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Mary Pollett for the School Board. As a Chief Technology Officer, I have had the privilege of knowing and collaborating with Mary for the past 15 years. Throughout our professional relationship, I have witnessed firsthand her remarkable ability to lead both young people and adults with thoughtful leadership, fair judgment, and a profound empathy that truly sets her apart from others in positions of authority.
Mary is a deeply solution-oriented leader who navigates complex challenges with grace. This was most evident when she guided her school community through the height of the pandemic, ensuring that families were not only educated but also fed and cared for—going far beyond what many leaders could muster. She is highly adaptable, able to seamlessly step up to lead or step back to support, depending on what best serves the organization. Furthermore, her calm and steady demeanor has a unique way of diffusing even the most difficult or high-pressure situations, allowing her teams to stay focused and productive.
Above all else, Mary puts students first. Whenever we collaborated on creating or enforcing any policy, she was always the voice ensuring that our decisions truly benefited the young people we served. Despite her many talents and accomplishments, she remains incredibly grounded; her great smile, sense of humor, and genuine humility prove she never forgets "where she came from." I have the utmost respect and admiration for Mary, and I support her candidacy without reservation. Her extensive experience and steadfast character will be an incredible asset to the School Board and to any organization lucky enough to have her.”
Randy Phelps, Chief Technology Officer, East Side Union High School District
